Udaipur Files: The Supreme Court is ready to hear the case of the film 'Udaipur Files', which is why its release was banned

The film 'Udaipur Files' is in the headlines these days. Recently, the Delhi High Court had banned the release of this film. Now the Supreme Court has agreed to hear the petition demanding the removal of the ban on its release.

 

The release of the film was banned.

 

Senior advocate Gaurav Bhatia, on behalf of the producer of the film, said in the petition that the CBFC has already approved the film 'Udaipur Files' and not releasing it is a violation of their fundamental right.

 

Earlier, the Delhi High Court had banned the release of the film a day before its official release date.

 

The producer had said that he would go to the Supreme Court.

 

On the decision of the Delhi High Court to ban the release of the film 'Udaipur Files', producer Amit Jani had said that he would go to the Supreme Court against this decision.

 

Ulema-e-Hind had filed a petition.

 

Actually Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind and Prashant Tandon had challenged the decision of the CBFC to give a certificate to the film in the Delhi High Court. He had argued in his petition that the release of the film would affect brotherhood and pose a danger to the public. After hearing the petition, the Delhi High Court had stayed the release of the film.

 

About the film

Let us tell you that the film 'Udaipur Files' is based on the murder of Kanhaiya Lal in the year 2022. Kanhaiya Lal was a tailor in Udaipur, Rajasthan. He was accused of posting a post on social media in support of BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma. After this, he was allegedly murdered. The film was scheduled to release on July 11.
