Ukraine-Russia crisis: India said - security of more than 20 thousand Indians is our priority, solve the issue through dialogue

An emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) is underway amid Russia's recognition of two regions of eastern Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk, as independent states. There has also been a reaction from India in this meeting. TS Tirumurti, India's permanent member in UNSC, has given a statement on behalf of India on the Ukraine issue. Tirumurti has appealed to all countries to exercise restraint and to take all possible steps for the well-being of Indian citizens.

In the emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis, India said that the increasing tension on Ukraine's border with Russia is a matter of deep concern. These developments have the potential to undermine the peace and security of the region. We call on all parties to exercise restraint. We believe that this issue can be resolved only through diplomatic dialogue. The safety of citizens is essential. More than 20,000 Indian students and citizens live and study in different parts of Ukraine and border areas. The safety of Indians is our priority.

 

 

Air India flight leaves for Ukraine

Efforts have started to rescue Indians trapped in Ukraine amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Air India's special aircraft has left for Ukraine on Tuesday morning. More than 200-seater Dreamliner B-787 aircraft have been deployed from India for special operations.

 

Ukraine's President said - Russia ruined peace talks

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of ruining peace talks and rejected any territorial concessions in an address to the nation in the early hours of Tuesday morning, Reuters news agency reported. Apart from this, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Nations Sergei Kislitsya at the UNSC meeting said that we want peace, we are committed to a political and diplomatic agreement. We do not succumb to provocation.

 

America also reacted

At the UNSC meeting, the US said that Russia's apparent attack on Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty was unwarranted. It is an attack on Ukraine's status as a member state of the United Nations. It violates the basic principles of international law. The US said that Russian President Putin's move is the basis of Russia's attempt to make excuses for further aggression in Ukraine.
