Ukrainian President Zelensky meets US President Biden, US announces military aid

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky meets US President Joe Biden at the White House. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United States on Wednesday on his first trip abroad since the start of the Ukraine-Russia war, where he was welcomed at the White House. Biden and First Lady Jill Biden welcomed him. There is going to be a bilateral meeting between the two leaders.

 

Zelensky's first trip abroad

Let us tell you that this is his first foreign trip since Russia invaded Ukraine in February. According to information, Vice President Kamala Harris will attend Ukrainian President Zelensky's address to a joint meeting of Congress on Wednesday night at the US Capitol. The US Department of State said the Department of Defense (DoD) announced $1.85 billion in additional security assistance for Ukraine as part of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's White House visit.

 

Many issues discussed between Biden and Zelensky

Meanwhile, US President Biden said that it was hard to believe that during the 300 days of this brutal war, Putin attacked innocent Ukrainian people for no other reason than to intimidate them. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, 'I thank the US Congress for their support. Thank you very much, Mr. President. Thank you bipartisan support, thank you Congress, and thank you from our ordinary people to your ordinary people and Americans.'

 

"I will hold a series of talks on strengthening Ukraine's resilience and defense capabilities," Zelensky said. In particular, we will discuss bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and the US with US President Joe Biden.
