A report issued by UN Secretary-General Antonio Gutarais states that Shihab al-Muhajir, the new leader of the terrorist organization ISIL-K, is the head of terrorist activities operations in India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Maldives, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The 12th report of the Secretary-General on the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant-Khorasan (ISIL-K) states that ISIL-K has between 1,000 and 2,200 fighters in different provinces of Afghanistan. This organization is also known as ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) and Daish.
The report said that ISIL-K is continuing attacks in other provinces including Nangarhar and Kunar in Afghanistan. The report said that ISIL-K is facing challenges in trying to capture large areas of these provinces but this organization has taken responsibility for many attacks here.

The report said that ISIL-K is currently estimated to have between 1,000-2,200 fighters in several provinces of Afghanistan and the organization is expected to carry out attacks in the capitals of Kabul and other provinces. Shihab al-Muhajir was made the new leader of the group in June 2020 and he allegedly leads terrorist operations in countries in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Maldives, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Central Asia. It has been said that earlier he was associated with the Haqqani network.
According to Washington's Institute for the Study of War, the Haqqani network has the support of some of Pakistan's security establishments and has long served as a terrorist organization in Afghanistan.
