The responsibility of the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UP-TET) paper leak case has fallen on Secretary Examination Regulatory Authority Sanjay Kumar Upadhyay. The government has suspended them. During the suspension period, he will be attached to the Office of the Director of Basic Education, Lucknow. On November 28, as soon as the paper was leaked, CM Yogi had instructed for strict action in this matter. The UP government will organize the UP TET exam within a month.

The Secretary Examination Regulator has been found prima facie guilty of not conducting UP-TET in a clean, copy-less, and peaceful manner. It is noteworthy that on November 28, the exam had to be canceled due to the leak of the proposed UP-TET paper in two shifts. This caused a lot of embarrassment to the government. More than 21 lakh candidates had to appear in the examination.

In the first shift, the primary level examination was to be conducted at 2554 centers across the state from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm and the upper primary level examination was to be conducted at 1754 centers in the second shift from 2:30 to 5.30 pm. 13.52 lakh candidates had registered for TET primary level exam and 8.93 lakh candidates for TET upper primary level exam.

Earlier, 16 lakh candidates had appeared in the UPTET held in 2019 and around 11 lakh candidates appeared in this examination held in 2018. For the first time in the TET exam, such a large number of candidates were going to participate. But the TET exam had to be postponed due to a paper leak. STF has so far arrested about 30 accused in the TET paper leak. CM Yogi has given instructions to take action under Rasuka and Gangster Act.

Students show anger due to the cancellation of the exam

The anger over the cancellation of the UP TET exam is visible among the students. Since 28 November, people have been surrounding the Yogi government and officials, giving reactions on social media platforms. The opposition has also tried to surround the UP government fiercely on this issue.
