Asian Games 2023: How India got 16th gold, Jyoti-Ojas created history; 15 out of 16 arrows hit the target accurately

India has given its best performance so far in the Asian Games 2023. India has won 71 medals including 16 gold. Till now, India's best performance in the Asian Games was in 2018. Then India had won a total of 70 medals. On the 11th day of the Asian Games, the pair of Jyoti Surekha and Ojas Deotale won the 71st medal for the country and made the Asian Games 2023 memorable for India.

 

The Indian pair won the gold medal in the mixed archery event. This was India's 16th gold in the ongoing Asian Games. In the final match, India won the gold medal by defeating South Korea by a margin of 159-158. Let us know how the Indian pair won the gold medal.

First Round: Both the Indian archers scored 10 points each in both attempts and India got full 40 points. At the same time, archers from South Korea scored nine points in one attempt. After the first round, the score was 40-39 in favor of India.

 

Round 2: The Korean pair attempted first and scored 40 points by hitting all four arrows accurately. Indian archers also did not make any mistakes and scored a full 40 points. After the second round, the Indian team remained ahead with a score of 80-79.

 

Third Round: Korean archers performed well under pressure and scored a full 40 points. For India, Ojas scored nine points in one attempt and India's lead was lost. After the end of the third round, both teams remained tied with a score of 119-119.

 

Fourth Round: The Indian attempted first and both the archers scored 10 points. At the same time, Korea's Ju could score only nine points. India had a lead of one point. All four archers scored 10 points in their last attempt. However, due to Xu's mistake, in the end, the Indian team remained ahead with a score of 159-158 and won the gold medal.

 

Jyoti performed brilliantly for India and hit the target in all eight attempts. He scored a full 80 marks. At the same time, Tejas was able to score only nine points in one attempt. He scored 79 points in his eight attempts.
