Fans' most beloved couple, "Virosh" Vijay Deverakonda and national crush Rashmika Mandanna, will be united forever today. Only a few hours are left for their grand wedding. They will tie the knot forever in Udaipur, the city of lakes. Pre-wedding functions and celebrations have been underway for the past three days. On Wednesday, February 25th, the wedding ceremony began with the application of turmeric to Rashmika and Vijay's cheeks. Now, the only delay is the seven vows, which will take place in just a few hours.
A Wedding Will Be Inspired by Two Traditions
Respecting their respective cultural backgrounds, Vijay and Rashmika will perform wedding rituals from two different cultures. The ceremonies will reflect Telugu and Kodava traditions. The first ceremony will be held according to traditional Telugu Hindu customs, which Vijay Deverakonda's family follows. Following this, the wedding rituals will be performed according to Kodava culture on Thursday evening. Rashmika comes from the Kodava culture.
The priest has already arrived a day early.
The priest has also arrived in Udaipur for this grand wedding. A video of the priest arriving in Udaipur surfaced yesterday. Telugu and Kodava customs will be followed at the wedding.
The bride and groom have already applied the haldi ceremony.
Vijay and Rashmika's haldi ceremony took place on Wednesday, February 25th, during the day. Pictures of the decorations went viral. Later in the evening, the couple themselves gave fans a glimpse of their haldi ceremony. One flower-shaped card had 'Rushie', Rashmika's nickname, written on it, while the other had 'Vijay' written on it. These nameplates, adorned with fresh lilies, roses, and marigolds, added a romantic touch to the decor.
Entered the sangeet ceremony holding each other's hands
Following the haldi ceremony during the day, Virosh's sangeet ceremony took place in the evening, where the bride and groom entered holding each other's hands. In the viral photo, Vijay and Rashmika were seen holding hands. The actress was seen wearing a silver lehenga, while the groom, Vijay Deverakonda, was seen in a black sherwani.
Vijay's Mother Gave a Surprise Performance
During the sangeet, Vijay's mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, surprised her son and daughter-in-law with a performance. The video also went viral on social media.
Told Their Love Story Through Pictures
At the sangeet night, Vijay and Rashmika decided to share their love story through pictures. Several unseen romantic photos of Vijay and Rashmika were displayed at the sangeet venue. These photos, ranging from selfies taken in the car to pictures taken during vacations and special romantic moments of them embracing each other, were displayed on the lawns of ITC Momentos in Udaipur.
Mother-in-law hands over family heirlooms to Rashmika
Before the sangeet, Vijay Deverakonda's mother, Madhavi Deverakonda, presented Rashmika with family-owned bangles, as per tradition. This gift is not just jewelry, but a symbol of accepting Rashmika as a daughter-in-law in the family, and a transfer of love and legacy.
Announcement four days before the wedding
Vijay and Rashmika made their relationship official on February 22nd, just four days before the wedding. The two shared the good news with fans via a statement on their Instagram story, naming their wedding "Virosh." The next day, on February 23rd, the couple left for Udaipur for the wedding.
