Vivo ED Raid: The director of Vivo fled India last year, and now China said – we always asked to obey the law

Zhengshen Ou and Zhangjie, directors of India's popular mobile brand Vivo, fled India last year. This information has been released by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday. This information has been given by the ED officials after media reports that the directors of the mobile maker had fled the country after the Enforcement Directorate proceedings started.

 

Let us tell you that on July 5, ED raided 40 locations of Vivo company across the country. This raid was done under PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act). An ED official told news agency ANI on condition of anonymity that Zhengsheng Ou and Zheng Jie were directors of GPICL, a firm linked to mobile maker Vivo and they have fled the country only last year. Let us tell you that on July 5, ED raided 44 locations across the country of smartphone maker Vivo in connection with money laundering.

 

 

CBI is also taking action against the company

 

Action has been taken against Vivo company for violating PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act). Taking action, the ED has raided the premises of the company located in states like Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Maharashtra. Let us tell you that the CBI is already taking action against the Chinese mobile manufacturer Vivo. The Income Tax Department and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs are also monitoring the ongoing action against Chinese mobile manufacturers. The ED action against Vivo is an extension of the investigation already underway against the company.

 

The Chinese company was on the radar of Indian security agencies

 

According to sources, India-based companies of Vivo Mobile Communications had come under the radar of Indian agencies for alleged financial irregularities during the investigation of other Chinese firms. The Corporate Affairs Ministry was also alert about the irregularities in the financial matters of the company. In April this year, the ministry was asked to investigate irregularities in ownership and financial reporting against Vivo company.

At the same time, now after the action of ED against the Chinese company Vivo, a statement has also been issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in this matter. In a statement issued by China's Foreign Ministry, it has been said that they are monitoring the sequence of events beyond. The Chinese government has always asked Chinese companies to comply with laws and regulations when doing business abroad. We also strongly cooperate with Chinese companies in protecting their legitimate rights and interests.

 

China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian has said that we hope that the Indian agencies will impartially investigate the matter because they are fair, just, and non-discriminatory to Chinese companies investing and operating in India while carrying out investigation and enforcement activities.
