Along with removing the symbols of slavery in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, the government is rapidly moving towards changing the British-era names of various places. In this episode, on Monday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced the change of names of 15 places in four districts Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar.

 

Politics has intensified over changing the names of places. Now Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the Dhami government. Akhilesh, who is going to participate in the proceedings of the Lok Sabha, while talking to the news agency said- Uttarakhand should also be renamed Uttar Pradesh-2. The name of Uttar Pradesh should also be linked to Uttarakhand.'

 

Aurangzeb put became Shivaji Nagar.

 

Let us tell you that CM Dhami has announced the change of names of the places. These include Nagar Panchayat Sultanpur Patti, which will now be known as Kaushalya Puri. Similarly, Aurangzebpur of Haridwar will now be known as Shivaji Nagar, and Nawabi Road in Nainital will now be known as Atal Marg.

 

Joshimath was renamed Jyotirmath.

 

Chief Minister Dhami said that various places are being renamed by public sentiment and Indian culture and heritage. Some time ago, some other states including the Uttar Pradesh government had also started changing their names. After this, the names of some places were also changed in Uttarakhand. In these, Ghat Nagar Panchayat was renamed as Nandanagar and Joshimath was renamed as Jyotirmath.

 

Demand for changing the name was already being raised.

 

Meanwhile, to remove the symbols of slavery in places, roads, and cities of various districts of the state, there has been a demand for changing the name by Indian culture. Now Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took an important decision on Monday and announced the change of names of 15 places. He said that with this people will be able to take inspiration from Indian culture and the great men who contributed to its preservation.
