The Marvel Cinematic Universe's film Avengers: Doomsday is one of the most anticipated films of 2026, eagerly awaited by both international audiences and Indian fans. Just a few days ago, the makers released the first teaser for the franchise film. Before the excitement from that teaser had even subsided, the makers released another teaser for Avengers: Doomsday.
While the first teaser featured Chris Evans, aka Captain America, with a baby, the second teaser for Avengers: Doomsday features Chris Hemsworth as Thor, again highlighting family, but this time with full preparation.
Praying for his daughter's safety before going to war
This Thor-centric teaser also focuses on family, showing Thor praying for the safety of his adopted daughter, Love, as he prepares to go to war once again. Love was first featured in the 2022 film Thor: Love and Thunder.
The teaser begins in a peaceful forest, with sunlight filtering through the trees. In the middle of the forest, Thor prays to his late father, Odin, asking for the strength to protect his daughter, as he prepares to join the Avengers to fight Doctor Doom. He kisses his daughter's forehead, dressed in casual clothes, and tells her about his upcoming battle.
Love is not Thor's daughter, but the villain's
According to Variety reports, the child Thor is raising is not his own, but the daughter of the villain Gorr the God Butcher. In Love and Thunder, it was shown that when Gorr's prayers to save his daughter are ignored by the gods, he vows revenge against them. However, in his final moments, he abandons his intention for revenge and brings Love back to life. He makes Thor promise to raise Love as his own daughter. Love then joins Thor on all his adventures and even wields his Stormbreaker hammer.
Besides Chris Hemsworth, Avengers: Doomsday also sees the return of Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Danny Ramirez, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Simu Liu, reprising their respective roles. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release in theaters on December 18, 2026.
