Big things announced by the Chief Election Commissioner
Largest election of corona round
70 countries postponed the elections, but as the days passed the New Normal was becoming worse as there were no signs of an early end of Corona. We wanted the democratic rights of the people to remain. We also had to worry about his health. Today we have come here to announce the Bihar elections. This is going to be the first largest election in the world, not only of the country but of Corona.
Bihar has 243 seats. 38 seats are reserved. We had decided to keep the number of voters at a polling booth at 1000 instead of 1500. At the time of the last assembly election in 2015, there were 6.7 crore voters. Now there are 7.29 crore voters.
Mask-gloves will be given, voting time also extended
1.73 lakh VVPATs will be used. 46 lakh masks, 7.6 lakh face shields, 23 lakh pairs of hand gloves, and 6 lakh PPE kits will be used. Voting time has been extended by one hour. Except in the Naxalite affected areas, voting will be between 7 to 6 in the morning instead of 7 to 5 in the normal areas.
Rules set for nomination
During this time, candidates will be able to take only 2 vehicles instead of 5. Corona patients who are quarantined will be able to vote only in the last hour of voting day.
Watch on social media
Postal Ballot facility will be provided at the place where there is need and demand. The misuse of social media will be monitored so that communal harmony remains. Hate will deal strictly with speech.
RJD and JDU fought together in 2015
In the 2015 elections, the RJD JDU and Congress formed a grand alliance together. The alliance won 178 seats. But, after a year and a half, Nitish broke away from the Grand Alliance and moved to the NDA. In this election, JDU is also with BJP, LJP, and Hum (Secular) in NDA. At the same time, the RLSP, which was part of the NDA in the last election, is with the Grand Alliance.
NDA was ahead in 223 assembly seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, NDA got 39 seats out of 40 in Bihar. The Congress candidate won only one seat. If you look at the results of the Lok Sabha according to the constituency, the NDA had an edge over 223 seats.
Out of these, BJP was ahead in 92 seats and JDU in 96 seats. The LJP was ahead in 35 seats. The Mahagathbandhan, which won one seat, was ahead of the assembly in 17 seats. Of these, RJD on 9 seats, Congress on 5, Ham (Secular) on two which are now part of NDA, and RLSP had an edge in one seat. Other parties were ahead of AIMIM in two assembly constituencies and CPI-ML on one.
Chief Ministerial candidate
Nitish Kumar: In the 2010 elections, Nitish was the face of the Chief Minister's post from the NDA and in 2015 from the Grand Alliance. This time again he will be CM face from NDA. Nitish's party has been in power in the state for the last 15 years. Among them, Nitish has been the chief minister for more than 14 years.
Tejashwi Yadav: This time, Tejashwi Yadav may be the face of the Grand Alliance. After Lalu Yadav goes to jail, the RJD's biggest party in the Grand Alliance is stunning. Recently, the poster linked to the election outside the party office of RJD was seen alone in the stunning. The face of party supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav was missing from the poster.
Big Election Issues
Corona: Corona will also be an issue in these elections going on between Corona. Tejashwi Yadav is constantly attacking the government over Corona. He has also made a point of not leaving the house of Nitish Kumar during the coronary. At the same time, the steps taken by the government in the last six months by Nitish are being counted.
Farmers and farming: Two new central government agriculture bills will also be a big issue in these elections.
Unemployment: RJD is continuously raising the issue of unemployment. The RJD celebrated the Prime Minister's birthday as National Unemployment Day. The Nitish government is claiming employment in Bihar itself from the migrants who returned to Bihar during the lockdown.
Development: JDU and BJP are counting the work done by the previous Central and State Governments. At the same time, RJD is continuously challenging the claims of development made in the last 15 years.
Migrant laborers: The issue of migrant laborers returning to Bihar during lockdown will also be important in this election. The government is talking about giving them all possible help in the state itself. At the same time, the opposition is questioning not making proper arrangements for the migrants.
Ram Mandir: Ram Mandir, which has been an election issue for the last 30 years, will continue to be a big issue this time too. The only difference will be that this time the BJP will count its foundation stone as its biggest achievement.
Election campaign face
Narendra Modi: Modi has been the main face of campaigning for the BJP in every election since the BJP announced Narendra Modi as the Prime Ministerial candidate in 2013. His rallies have been a big way to create an atmosphere in favor of the BJP. This time it is difficult to have big rallies. In such a situation, how much Modi's virtual rallies affect the voters will be seen.
Nitish Kumar: Right from the era of JDU and earlier Samata Party, Nitish has been the biggest face of the party in every election campaign. In this election, the NDA alliance will contest on his face.
Tejashwi Yadav: Tejashwi Yadav, who has just five years of experience in electoral politics, will command the campaigning this time. This will be the first assembly election after the formation of RJD when the party will fight without Lalu.
Rahul Gandhi: Although Rahul Gandhi is not a Congress president, how active he is in campaigning will be watched. Priyanka Gandhi's election campaign will also be watched. Looking at the health of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, the party may put forward Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.
Chirag Paswan: LJP President Chirag Paswan will be the biggest face of his party in the election campaign. The NDA can use them to woo the youth and Dalits. However, how the statements regarding the seats are coming from Paswan and his party, it is decided that the allocation of seats in the NDA is not going to be so easy.
