The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) constituted on the Waqf Amendment Bill will visit all the major cities of the country to get the opinion of the people. The series of tours will start after the fifth and sixth meetings of the committee on 19 and 20 September. The committee has so far received 84 lakh written suggestions through email and in 70 boxes from lakhs of people. The committee will soon start studying the suggestions received.
Committee sources said that Monday was the last day to give suggestions by email and in writing. The committee has received about one crore suggestions in email and writing. The maximum number of suggestions have been received from Uttar Pradesh. The committee has decided to conduct a nationwide tour to get the suggestions of the people. In this sequence, the committee has selected some other important cities including Lucknow, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Patna, and Ahmedabad. The series of tours will start after the sixth meeting. In these tours, the committee will contact all the major stakeholders related to this matter and get their opinions.

In the 6th meeting, prominent Chishtis of India Sajjadanashin Council Ajmer, prominent people of Muslim National Forum, and people of Bharat First Organization have been invited. In both these meetings, the committee will discuss the concerns and suggestions of all the parties regarding the bill.
