Zero-degree temperatures in Churu and Sikar
Skymet Weather's Vice President (Meteorology and Climate Change) Mahesh Palawat told that the coldness of snowfall on the mountains along with the north-westerly wind will shiver North India, but the minus temperature is expected to go only in Churu and Sikar of Rajasthan. Fatehpur (Sikar) and Churu recorded a minimum temperature of minus 1.8 and 1.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, on January 5.
Severe cold wave may continue in Delhi
Palawat said that on January 16-17, a severe cold wave may prevail in Delhi and the minimum temperature may drop by two to four degrees Celsius. He said that the intensity of the new cold wave would be higher, but its duration would be shorter than the previous cold wave, as another western disturbance would become active from January 19. On January 15, 16, and 17, severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail in some parts of North Rajasthan, while isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana are likely to prevail.
