Heavy snowfall in the mountains has thrown life out of gear. Many roads including some National Highways are closed in Himachal. The connectivity of many areas has also been cut. It is snowing in the state for the last few hours. Many routes are blocked due to snowfall.
Contact cut off in many areas
In Himachal Pradesh, Atal Tunnel, Koksar, Darcha, and Rorik have received one foot of snow each. Due to this, the contact of Lahaul with Manali and Spiti with Kinnaur was cut off. Avalanche in Lahul Spiti stopped the flow of the Chandrabhaga river for two hours. A drop in the minimum temperature has also been recorded.

The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and snowfall for Tuesday. A yellow alert has been issued regarding hailstorms in many areas. An Avalanche alert has been issued in areas above three thousand meters. In Himachal too, a warning of rain and snow with strong winds and hailstorms has been issued in all the districts on Tuesday. The weather is expected to remain the same in the Valley for the next 24 hours.
