The ODI World will be hosted by India this year in October. All the teams have started their preparations for this mega event. Many teams are performing well and in such a situation it is difficult to predict who is the strong contender for the title.

However, former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar believes that the final of the World Cup 2023 will see an India-Pakistan clash. The Indian team defeated Pakistan in the semi-finals of the 2011 World Cup and Akhtar wants to avenge it.

Shoaib Akhtar, popularly known as Rawalpindi Express, said in a conversation with Sports Tak, 'I want to see the final match between India and Pakistan. This time we have to take revenge for 2011.

Akhtar's statement on Asia Cup

Shoaib Akhtar has questioned the ongoing controversy regarding the Asia Cup. There is a dispute between BCCI and PCB regarding the Asia Cup. Pakistan is the official host of the Asia Cup, but the BCCI has decided not to send the Indian team to Pakistan.

Seeing the attitude of BCCI, PCB retaliated and said that if India does not come to the Asia Cup, then Pakistan will boycott the World Cup 2023. On this Akhtar said that it should not be made an issue.

The former fast bowler said, 'These are bad things. Nothing can be done by BCCI or PCB in this matter. BCCI cannot do anything without asking the Indian government. Our board cannot do anything without consulting the government of our country. When it comes to the India-Pakistan rivalry, everyone is voicing their views. I request all the former players of both teams to refrain from making unnecessary statements. If Narendra Modi's government gives the green signal then who is the BCCI to travel to Pakistan?
