The effect of snowfall in the hilly states is now gradually visible in entire North India and the plains. Due to the snowfall in the hill states, the temperature of many states of North India is being recorded and the cold has increased. There has been an improvement in the air quality in Delhi, although in the meantime a drop in temperature has also been recorded. The outbreak of cold is increasing in UP and Bihar as well and the fog has started knocking.

 

According to Skymet Weather, the low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal can become a depression. Due to the low pressure, there is a possibility of heavy rains in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Sri Lanka. Rain is also likely over South Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Kerala, and Lakshadweep. Due to the new Western Disturbance, snowfall will increase in the mountains from November 19. Severe winter may start in North West and Central India.

 

Where can it rain today?

According to the weather information website Skymet, there may be light to moderate rains in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and heavy rains in some places. Light rains with one or two moderate spells are possible over South Kerala and South Tamil Nadu. There will be high waves in the sea in South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas. The wind speed could be around 40 to 50 kmph. Light rain is possible at one or two places over the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Some more drops in minimum and maximum temperatures may be recorded over parts of Northwest and Central India.

The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Kashmir. At the same time, light rain with lightning and thunder is expected in isolated parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Lakshadweep, Kerala, and Mahe today. The minimum temperature is likely to drop by 2-4°C over most parts of northwest India and central India during the next few days. At present, there is no chance of rain in the northeastern states including UP-Bihar.

The cyclonic circulation over the southeast Arabian Sea is extending up to the Comorin area across Kerala and South Tamil Nadu.

 

A fresh Western Disturbance will affect the Western Himalayas from November 18.

 

How will be the weather in Uttar Pradesh today

In Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, today i.e. on November 17, the minimum temperature can be recorded at 14 degrees and the maximum temperature can be recorded at 29 degrees. At the same time, the light fog has also been seen in some areas in the morning.

 

Air quality in Delhi in the 'poor' category

The air quality in Delhi was recorded in the poor category for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday, which is expected to go into the very poor category by Friday. Delhi's average air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 264, up from 227 on Tuesday, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board. According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on November 17, the minimum temperature in Delhi can be recorded at 12 degrees and the maximum temperature can be recorded at 27 degrees. An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'very poor. An AQI between is considered 'severe'. It is believed that a drop in the temperature of Delhi can also be recorded today.
