Israel-Hamas War: 27th day of Israel-Hamas war, President Joe Biden calls for humanitarian "pause"

Posted on 2nd Nov 2023 10:55 am by rohit kumar

Today is the 27th day of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. Till now thousands of people from both sides have lost their lives in this war. Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said he thinks there should be a humanitarian "pause" in the Israel-Hamas war. "I think we need a pause," Biden said.

The call comes as Biden and top White House aides have maintained throughout the Middle East crisis that they would not dictate how Israelis conduct their military operations in response to the October 7 attack by Hamas. But the president has faced growing pressure from human rights groups, fellow world leaders, and even liberal members of his own Democratic Party, who say the Israeli bombing of Gaza is collective punishment and it is time for a ceasefire.

Biden puts pressure on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

In his address, Biden was pressing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to provide at least some relief to the Palestinians from a relentless military campaign that has killed thousands of people and plunged the 141-square-mile strip into a severe humanitarian crisis.

Injured Palestinians permitted to leave Gaza - Israeli Army

Meanwhile, Israel's military said on Wednesday that Israeli ground forces have advanced near Gaza City in heavy fighting with militants. Meanwhile, hundreds of foreign nationals and dozens of seriously injured Palestinians were allowed to leave Gaza after more than three weeks of siege.
