The Union Additional Health Secretary has written a letter to the Chief Secretaries of all the states and union territories of the country to consider the restrictions during festivals like Holi, Bihu, Shab-e-Baaraat. The letter states that restrictions may be considered on behalf of the local administration during festivals such as Holi, Shab-e-Barat, Bihu, Easter, and Eid. The central government has ordered that the administration can take such decisions to prevent the mass mobilization of people.
In a letter written by the Additional Secretary of Health Department Aarti Ahuja, states have been told that they can consider restrictions because of festivals. States can take strict decisions on their behalf under Section 22 of the Disaster Management Act to prevent crowds from getting organized during the state's festivities. With this, the letter said that if we relax at this stage, the increase in the war from Corona so far may be over. Following Corona's protocol in public places and preventing congestion is the only effective way to stop the spread of infection.
Gujarat government order, celebrate Holi at home: Meanwhile, the Gujarat government has ordered that the celebration of Holi in the state should be celebrated in a limited manner and traditionally. The government has ordered that the people organizing the programs have to take full vigil and will not be allowed to play Holi in public places. On the day of Holi, there will be a ban on any big event or the gathering of many people at one place.

The Madhya Pradesh government has also started the campaign 'Mera Ghar Meri Holi' to stop the huge gathering on Holi and appealed to people to celebrate the festival at their home. The Uttar Pradesh government has also advised to avoid celebrating Holi in public. Not only this, Rajasthan, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, and many other states and union territories have also issued orders in this regard.
