The family of Hollywood action hero Bruce Willis announced on Wednesday that the actor is quitting his acting career due to a serious illness. According to media reports, the actor is suffering from a disease called aphagia. The actor's family announced Willis' retirement in a joint statement on social media.

 

The family told that Bruce Willis is suffering from a disease called aphagia. It is a condition in which the ability to express or understand speech is greatly reduced. Bruce Willis' daughter, Rumer shared a joint statement on her Instagram handle which read, "To Bruce's fans, as a family we would like to share that our dear Bruce is facing some health issues. Recently, information has been received that he is suffering from aphagia. The disease is affecting their ability to speak, write and understand language. As a result of this and much deliberation, Bruce has decided to give up his acting career.

 

The post further wrote that this is a challenging time for our family. We appreciate your continued love and support. We are growing as a strong family. We know how much Bruce means to you, as you all mean to him. As Bruce always says, live on and that's what we plan to do now.

 

Talking about the career of the actor, Willis started his acting career in the 1980s. During his long career, the actor acted in films like The Verdict, Moonlighting, The Boxing, Hostage, Out of Death, Glass. Also, the actor is known for his series to Die Hard.
