A major plane crash occurred in Ahmedabad, Gujarat on Thursday. The plane is said to be of Air India, in which more than 200 passengers were on board. After this accident, the operation of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad has been temporarily stopped. The airport spokesperson informed that the operation of all flights has been temporarily stopped till further notice.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu over the phone and inquired about the plane crash. Ram Mohan Naidu's office informed that the minister told the Prime Minister that he was reaching Ahmedabad immediately so that he could monitor the relief and rescue operations. The Prime Minister instructed the minister to provide all necessary assistance immediately and to keep him informed about the situation. Rescue teams have been deployed and all efforts are being made to ensure that medical aid and relief assistance is rushed to the site.
