AIIA: Ministry of AYUSH announces academic position at Western Sydney University, Rajagopala S elected president

AIIA: To strengthen international collaboration and promote academic research, the Ministry of AYUSH on Tuesday announced an Ayurveda Academic Chair at the NICM Health Research Institute, Western Sydney University. Whose tenure will be for three years? Rajagopala S, Associate Professor, All India Institute of Ayurveda, New Delhi, and Head of the Department of Kumarabhritya has been selected for the post of Academic Chair in Ayurvedic Sciences at Western Sydney University, Australia.

 

Western medicine and Ayurvedic science will unite

Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, said, "This is a good step forward and I am sure that this position will strengthen our collaboration in promoting academic and collaborative research activities in Australia. It will help in translating research results to integrate them with the public health care delivery system. There will be reliable evidence of our scientific practices. Dr. Rajagopala S met the Australian delegation led by Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH along with Vice-Chancellor and President of Western Sydney University, Professor Barney Glover, and others. Professor Barney Glover, Vice-Chancellor and President of Western Sydney University, acknowledged that the collaboration would help bring Western medicine and Ayurvedic science closer together.

 

MoU with 16 foreign countries

The Ministry of AYUSH has made concerted efforts to promote and establish Ayurveda and Yoga as the soft power of India. To facilitate the same, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for AYUSH Chairs was signed with 16 foreign countries. The Ministry has also developed a Central Sector Scheme for Promotion of International Cooperation (IC Scheme), which seeks to promote AYUSH systems of medicine abroad, promote awareness about AYUSH systems of medicine and strengthen the international exchange of experts. Will conduct academic and collaborative research

In a statement issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, the academic chair will conduct academic and collaborative research activities in Ayurveda, which includes herbal medicine and yoga. Also includes academic standards and short-term/medium-term courses and educational guidelines. It will provide academic leadership in demonstrating and promoting excellence in Ayurveda-related teaching, research, and policy development within a robust Australian regulatory framework and develop strategies to promote the translation and integration of evidence-based Ayurveda medicine into traditional health care Will do.
