RCB vs KKR: Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir will face each other after a year, both teams will take the field with this target

In IPL 2024, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday. Apart from this high-voltage match, all eyes will once again be on Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir. Last year, the clash between RCB and LSG made a lot of headlines. Now after a year, these two giants will once again be face to face.

This time Gautam Gambhir will be present in the dugout as the mentor of KKR. Gautam left LSG last year and returned to his old team KKR, where he has won the IPL trophy twice as captain. Both the teams have won their previous matches, but there is still maturity to be brought in their performance.

Problem of RCB and KKR

RCB defeated Punjab Kings in the last match, while KKR defeated Sunrisers by four runs in a close match. Despite this, there are problems with the top and middle-order batting of both teams. The RCB camp must have heaved a sigh of relief with star batsman Virat Kohli's half-century.

Captain Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar have still not been able to play big innings. Dinesh Karthik's experience and 'impact player' Mahipal Lomror's useful innings came in handy in the last moments against Punjab. KKR have a good bowling attack and if they perform well as a unit, they can cause trouble to the RCB batsmen.

Will this player get a chance?

For RCB, fast bowlers Mohammad Siraj and Yash Dayal bowled well in the last match but the rest of the bowlers will have to perform better. Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph gave 38 runs in the first match and did not get any wickets while in the second match, he took one wicket for 43 runs. In such a situation, the RCB camp can field England's left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley.

KKR bowlers will have to show strength

In the last match, KKR bowlers had to struggle to defend a score of more than 200. Mitchell Starc, the most expensive player in IPL history, proved to be very expensive and could not give even a single wicket. Varun Chakraborty and Suyyash Sharma also could not impress.

The top order and middle order are also a cause of concern for KKR. Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, and Nitish Rana were unable to play against Sunrisers at Eden. Impact players Ramandeep Singh, Rinku Singh, and Andre Russell were able to take the team to a good score by batting at sixth, seventh, and eighth positions. Shreyas played two balls and could not even open the account.

Shreyas' morale will increase

However, their good performance in the last two innings at Chinnaswamy Stadium will boost their morale. He scored an unbeaten 128 against Netherlands in the World Cup last year and 53 in the fifth T20 against Australia in December.

The teams are as follows

RCB - Faf du Plessis (captain), Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Suyyash Prabhudesai, Will Jacques, Mahipal Lomror, Karn Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Mayank Dagar, Vijaykumar Vishak, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj. , Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, Rajan Kumar, Cameron Green, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Tom Curran, Lockie Ferguson, Swapnil Singh, Sourav Chauhan.

KKR – Shreyas Iyer (captain), Nitish Rana, Manish Pandey, Ramandeep Singh, Rinku Singh, Shakib Al Hasan, Anukul Rai, Venkatesh Iyer, Sherfane Rutherford, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, KS Bharat, Phil Salt, Rahmanullah Gurbaz. , Vaibhav Arora, Chetan Sakariya, Dushmantha Chameera, Varun Chakraborty, Mitchell Starc, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Harshit Rana, Suyyash Sharma.
