Aryan's bail still difficult: In preparation for increasing NCB remand in drugs case, Metropolitan Court does not have the right to grant bail

Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan is to appear in the Metropolitan Court of Mumbai in a short time in the drugs case, but even today there is little hope of Aryan getting bail. The NCB will seek an extension of custody for interrogation, as a foreign national has also been arrested in this case recently, further strengthening the theory of international connections to the drugs racket. Hence NCB would like more time for questioning.

On the other hand, the Metropolitan Court is a special court and this court does not have the power to grant bail under the NDPS Act. In such a situation, it will be the effort of Aryan's lawyer Satish Manshinde that the court should end Aryan's remand and issue an order to send him to jail so that an appeal for bail can be made in the higher court on Friday.

On Thursday, Aryan Khan was again taken for a medical test. It is expected that today there can be a very long debate on this matter. NCB will try to extend Aryan's remand on the pretext of new evidence and new arrests.

Tomorrow Gauri Khan's 50th birthday party canceled

Aryan's mother Gauri Khan's 50th birthday is on Friday. Before Aryan's arrest, there was a plan to celebrate Gauri's birthday on a big scale. There was also talk of organizing a big party in Mannat, but after Aryan's arrest, the celebration has been canceled. If Aryan's remand is not extended today and Aryan gets bail on Friday, then it will be the biggest birthday gift for Gauri.

17 arrested so far in cruise drugs party case

NCB has so far arrested 17 people in connection with the drugs party on the cruise. Out of these, 8 people are in the custody of NCB till 7 October and 8 accused till 11 October. Apart from Aryan, the custody of his friends Arbaaz Merchant, Vikrant Chhokar, Gomit Chopra, Ishmeet Singh Chaddha, Mohak Jaiswal, Munmun Dhamicha and Nupur Satija is also ending today. In this case, the authorities have allegedly seized several drugs like cocaine, mephedrone, charas, hydroponic, and MDMA and Rs 1.33 lakh in cash.

After questioning the accused Mohk Jaiswal, the authorities raided Jogeshwari in Mumbai and arrested Abdul Qadir Sheikh with mephedrone on 3 October. NCB claims that after interrogating accused Ishmeet Singh Chadha, they arrested Shreyas Surendra Nair, a resident of Goregaon, with charas on October 4.

Arrest under NDPS sections

Aryan has been arrested under sections 8C, 20B, and 27, 35 of NDPS. Section 8C is imposed for taking drugs. The Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 (NDPS) is a strict drug law. Under section 27, if someone takes narcotic drugs, it is an offense.

Clause (A) of this section states that a person found guilty of consuming prohibited intoxicants such as cocaine, morphine, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year, or with a fine of Rs 20,000, or with both.
