There has been a war of words between the BJP and Congress over the election results of the northeastern states. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a jibe at the Congress party. Ramesh told the defeat of Northeast as a victory
Actually, in his tweet, Ramesh had tweeted about the victory of the Congress in the by-elections held in various states of the country. Ramesh tweeted that according to today\'s assembly election results, Congress won the Kasba Peth seat in Maharashtra after 33 years, the Sagardighi seat in West Bengal after 51 years, Congress in Tripura from 0 seats to 5, and Meghalaya from 21 seats. Despite the hijack of MLAs, it has won 5 seats and also won the Tamil Nadu by-elections.
Jairam targets 3S
Congress leader Jairam targeted BJP over its post-poll alliance in Meghalaya. Ramesh said that the game of NPP and BJP has come to the fore. He said that this game was of \'3S\' Shah, Sarma, and Sangma. The Congress leader said that contesting the separate elections was a well-planned game.

Taking a jibe at Congress leader Jairam, Sarma said the Congress\' ability to live in obscurity should be appreciated, \"how to convert defeat into achievement in three states, one should learn from Congress\". The BJP and its allies returned to power in Meghalaya and Nagaland while maintaining the status quo. On the other hand, Congress has got a single-digit number of seats in these elections.

BJP has become the single largest party in Tripura with 32 seats. In Nagaland, the BJP along with the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) won 37 seats, while the National People\'s Party (NPP) emerged as the single largest party in Meghalaya with 26 seats. Here no party could get a majority on its own, but now NPP can go with BJP.
Congress\'s big victory in the by-election
The Congress party has won a bumper victory in the by-elections. The results of the by-elections in Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, one seat in West Bengal, and two seats in Maharashtra have been declared. In the Maharashtra by-elections, the BJP won Pimpri-Chinchwad and the Congress the Kasba assembly seat. The Congress also won the Erode (East) by-poll in Tamil Nadu and the Sagardighi seat in West Bengal. Whereas, the AJSU party won the Ramgarh assembly seat in Jharkhand and the BJP won the Lumla assembly seat in Arunachal Pradesh.
