Mumbai Police on Monday filed a chargesheet in the murder case of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Baba Siddiqui. Many shocking revelations have been made in it. Police claim that Bollywood actor Salman Khan was the main target of the gang. Siddiqui was murdered as part of an alternate plan, as the attempt to kill the actor failed due to security reasons.
This is why Baba Siddiqui was murdered.
The reasons cited by Mumbai Police in the court include Baba Siddiqui's close friendship with Salman Khan and his alleged relationship with Dawood Ibrahim, second to show the dominance of his gang (Lawrence Bishnoi gang) in Mumbai and other places and third is the alleged murder of Anuj Thapan. Let us tell you that Anuj Thapan was the accused in the firing case at Salman Khan's house. Bishnoi gang believes that Thapan was murdered in custody, while police claim that he committed suicide.
Statements of 210 people recorded in the charge sheet
Mumbai Police has filed a 4590-page charge sheet in this case. The charge sheet contains the names of 26 accused and three absconding accused. These absconding accused are Shubham Lonkar, Mohammad Yasin Akhtar alias Sikandar, and Anmol Bishnoi. To establish the three reasons for the murder, the police have also made Shubham Lonkar's Facebook post the basis. The charge sheet also contains statements from 210 people.
This was the plan first, then...
The police said that first of all a plan was made to target Siddiqui or his son Zeeshan during Ganpati immersion. But this plan failed when he did not reach for the immersion. But later former Maharashtra minister Siddiqui was murdered on the night of 12 October 2024.
Siddique was shot dead by three assailants outside his son's office in the Bandra area of Mumbai. Immediately after this murder, Mumbai Police came into action and arrested the accused from different parts of the country. The accused in this murder include the shooter and those who helped in the murder.
This is also the police claim.
According to the charge sheet, Anmol Bishnoi had conspired to kill Siddiqui to create an atmosphere of fear and establish dominance. In this case, the police have so far arrested 26 people and taken action against them under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime (MCOC) Act. All the accused are in judicial custody.
Police sources said that they have not found any evidence of Lawrence Bishnoi's involvement in this case. Also, the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) allegation leveled by Zeeshan has been rejected.
Shubham's Facebook post is being considered as the basis.
An officer said, 'In the initial investigation, we have not found any evidence to link the murder with the SRA allegation leveled by Siddiqui's son Zeeshan. Though we recorded statements of some developers, nothing came out of it. We are relying on the statement made by Shubham on social media two days later.'
Shubham Lonkar had said on Facebook, 'Salman Khan, we never wanted this war, but you harmed our brother. Today we will respond, though we did not attack first.'
