Weather Update: Possibility of rain in Delhi-UP, a yellow alert for heat wave in Punjab; temperature reaches 47 degrees in Rajasthan

The sudden change in weather on Wednesday night in Delhi NCR, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh caused havoc. Heavy rain along with severe storm disrupted life. Hundreds of trees and electric poles collapsed. Walls of kutcha houses collapsed. Tin sheds flew away and roads were completely blocked at many places.

 

Today there will be bright sunshine in Delhi NCR

 

According to the Meteorological Department, seasonal activities will also be seen in North India and Northeast during the next 24 hours. IMD says that there is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain in Delhi-NCR till Sunday. However, today there will be bright sunshine in Delhi NCR.

 

Possibility of rain in these states

Apart from UP, Bihar and Rajasthan, warnings of hailstorm along with rain have been issued in other states. Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Karnataka.

 

Heatwave yellow alert in Punjab today, orange alert tomorrow

 

Heat wave yellow alert has been issued in many districts of Punjab on Friday and orange alert on Saturday. During this time dust storm is expected. On Thursday, the day temperature was recorded as high as 42.5 degree Celsius in Bathinda and Fazilka districts.

 

The temperature reached 47 degrees Celsius in Rajasthan.

 

Rajasthan is in the grip of heat wave these days. On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Sri Ganganagar adjoining the international border reached 47.3 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 46.6 in Bikaner, 46.1 in Churu, 46 degrees in Jaisalmer and 46.3 degree Celsius in Pilani.

 

Severe heat in Jodhpur districts

 

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of severe heat and heat waves in the districts of Bikaner and Jodhpur for the next three days. The maximum temperature in both the districts can reach 46 to 48 degree Celsius.

 

21 people died due to lightning

 

Most deaths in Kanpur and surrounding districts. 21 people died due to lightning and other weather-related accidents in Kanpur and surrounding districts. 15 people died in storm-related accidents in the Braj region and its adjoining districts. Two people have died in Ghaziabad and seven in Meerut and surrounding areas.
