AQI beyond 200 in Delhi and 300 in Gurugram
The level of air pollution has increased in Gurugram for two days. Now the morning air was no longer breathable. For two days, the level of air pollution PM 2.5 is being recorded more than normal. The PM 2.5 level was recorded at 305 around 8 am on Monday, while the PM 2.5 level was recorded at 307 on Sunday. Whenever the level of PM 2.5 is recorded more than 50 then it is considered injurious to health. This air is especially harmful for asthma patients. It is the advice of doctors that those who have a complaint of asthma disease should not go for a walk in the morning.
Instructions to the states to be strict
In view of this, the sub-committee of the Air Quality Management Commission (CAQM) reviewed the provisions made to reduce pollution. Along with this, the commission has directed the concerned agencies and the pollution control boards of the states to strictly implement the rules of the first phase of GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) implemented in Delhi NCR.
The first phase of GRAP is applicable from October 5
According to the report released by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) at 4 pm, the air index of Delhi was recorded at 232, which is in the poor category. Earlier on October 5, the air quality in Delhi had reached the poor category. Then the Air Quality Index was recorded at 211. In view of this, on October 5, the Commission had implemented a 24-point action plan under the first phase of GRAP in Delhi NCR. After this the air was cleared due to change of weather and rain.
AQI running above 200
The air quality remained in the moderate category for the last few days but Delhi's air index crossed 200 on Sunday. The Air Index of Faridabad was also recorded at 229, that of Ghaziabad was 286, that of Greater Noida was 258, that of Gurugram was 231 and that of Noida was 258.
There were more than 280 incidents of stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana.

This stubble smoke also accounts for about two percent of Delhi's pollution, but pollution has increased mostly due to local reasons.
Need to expedite implementation of Grape
The Commission says that due to the worsening of air quality again, the implementation of the rules of the first phase of Grape in Delhi NCR and action will have to be accelerated, so the Central Government, Delhi Government and the agencies of the State Governments related to NCR are directed to expedite the action. Have given. At the same time, he has appealed to the people to help the government agencies in the prevention of pollution.
Arrangements should also be made for dust not to spread in the atmosphere.
Under the 24-point action plan in the first phase of GRAP, construction and demolition work on plots of 500 square meters and above, which have not been registered on the portal of the respective state government of NCR, is prohibited. It is necessary to take measures to prevent air and noise pollution at construction and demolition sites. Under this, it is necessary to cover construction sites and construction materials, so that dust does not spread in the atmosphere.

The use of diesel generator sets is prohibited in the rooms of the main source of electricity. Apart from this, regular cleaning of roads, water sprinkling and regular garbage collection is essential. Also, there is a ban on burning of garbage and organic residues in open space.
The commission has issued 68 instructions so far
The Air Quality Management Commission has so far issued 68 instructions to the state governments and concerned agencies for the prevention of pollution. Apart from this, warnings have been issued seven times. Still, the agencies concerned are not able to strictly enforce the rules.
Air quality in the dangerous category in the evening in Anand Vihar
The air index reached 425 in Anand Vihar at 6 pm. Due to this, the air quality remained in the health-hazardous category in the evening. Due to this, the maximum level of PM-2.5 reached 380 micrograms per cubic meter in the vicinity of Anand Vihar, which is six and a half times higher than the accepted normal level. The air quality there remained in the very poor category during this period.
