Big action by EC before Lok Sabha elections, Home Secretaries of six states including Bihar-UP removed; The blame also fell on Bengal's DGP

Before the Lok Sabha elections, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken a big action. The Election Commission has issued orders for the removal of the Home Secretary in six states Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

 

The BMC commissioner was also removed

Besides, the Secretary of the General Administrative Department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh has also been removed. The Election Commission has also taken necessary action to remove the Director General of Police (DGP) of West Bengal. At the same time, the Election Commission ordered the removal of Brihanmumbai Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, Additional Commissioners, and Deputy Commissioners.

 

The commission sent instructions to all state governments

The secretaries of the General Administrative Department in Mizoram and Himachal Pradesh have also been removed. The Commission has directed all state governments to transfer those officers associated with election-related work who have completed three years or are in their home districts. The Commission directed the BMC and Additional/Deputy Commissioners to be transferred with instructions to report by 6 pm today.
