These days, the controversy over the movie Phule is in the news. After watching the trailer, the Brahmin community alleged that the film negatively shows them. Seeing the controversy growing, CBFC postponed the release date and ordered changes. Meanwhile, while supporting Phule, Anurag Kashyap made such a statement that he became a part of the controversy.
Anurag Kashyap reacted to the controversy over Phule through a social media post yesterday. Then a user told him 'Brahmins are your fathers.' In response, Anurag Kashyap said, "I will urinate on Brahmins... no problem." Just because of this statement, the director got into trouble. An FIR was even filed against him, and he and his family are receiving death and harassment threats.
Anurag's apology for the controversial statement
After the uproar over his statement, Bad Girl director Anurag Kashyap apologized by sharing another post last night. Also, he said that if you want to abuse, then abuse only him, not his family. The actor said in the post, "This is my apology, not for that post but for that one line which was taken out of context and is creating hatred. No action or speech deserves that the leaders of Sanskar give rape and death threats to your daughter, family, friends and colleagues."
Anurag Kashyap further said, "What I have said cannot be taken back and I will not take it back but abuse me as much as you want. My family has neither said anything nor will it say anything. So if you want an apology from me, then this is my apology. Brahmins, please spare the women, this much Sanskar is there in the scriptures also, not just in Manuism. Decide which Brahmin you are. Rest, I apologize." With this post, Anurag wrote in the caption, "Apology to Manuvadis and Gaur Sanskari Brahmins."
