Union Home Minister Amit Shah once again mentioned Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) before the Lok Sabha elections. He said that PoK is a part of India. The Hindus living there also belong to us and the Muslims living there belong to India. Apart from this, he also targeted the opposition. He alleged that the opposition party is misleading the Muslim community regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act. There is no provision to take away citizenship in CAA.
Should we not give them citizenship: Shah
Shah attended the interview held in New Delhi on Friday. During this, he said that at the time of independence, there were 23 percent Hindus in Pakistan. Today there are 2.7 percent. Where did the rest go? What happened to them? Today less than 10 percent of Hindus are left in Bangladesh. Where did they go? What happens to them? A large number of conversions took place in neighboring countries. There, injustice was done to the women of his family. His family was tortured there. He took refuge in India. Why should we not give them citizenship?
religion division unfortunate
In the interview, he accused the opposition parties of misleading the Muslim community. There is no provision in CAA to take away citizenship. Members of minority communities in Pakistan who felt oppressed were assured at the time of partition that they could come to India later. Unfortunately, the country has seen religion-based partition in 1947.
Had we been in a decisive position, we would not have allowed the country to be divided.
The Union Minister said, we have never been in favor of partition, and had we been in a decisive position, we would not have allowed the country to be divided. The Home Minister made allegations of discrimination on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and said that those who support Muslim Personal Law are saying that there should not be a law on religion. He said refugees have the same rights as we and you have in the country. He said, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir is ours and the Hindus and Muslims there are also ours.
This reason is given for one nation, one election
Responding to a question on One Nation, One Election, Shah said the date of its implementation will be decided by Parliament. Its objective is to curb the expenditure on elections. We have to see that the pace of development is not affected due to frequent elections. This will ease policy-making. With this, people can also focus on enriching their families.
Supporting One Nation One Election, the Home Minister said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP are of the view that while expenditure increases due to frequent elections in the country, development work gets affected due to repeated implementation of the code of conduct. He said that by holding elections of Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies at one go, the elected governments will do their work without any hindrance for five years and frequent interruptions will end. He said, simultaneous elections were held in the country till 1960 but when Indira Ji started toppling the governments, the order of elections was disturbed.
