Canada Row: Tension increased between India and Canada due to the attack of Khalistanis on Hindus, Sikh community also came out in support

The ongoing tension in the relations between India and Canada may increase further due to Khalistanis targeting the people of the Hindu community outside the temple in Canada. The Indian High Commission in Canada has stated this issue and expressed displeasure to the Canadian government. In this statement, the Indian High Commission has demanded action against extremist Khalistanis from the Canadian government.

The statement issued by the High Commission said that 'Like previous years, a consular camp was organized by the Indian High Commission and the Consulates General of Vancouver and Toronto at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton. Hindu Sabha Mandir of Brampton was also among the co-organizers of this program. The High Commission had already demanded security arrangements for this program from the Canadian government, but we saw that on November 3, this consular camp was vandalized and people were attacked by anti-India elements.'

 

The statement said, 'It is sad to see that normal consular work is also being disrupted. We are concerned about the safety of the applicants. However, despite this, we distributed more than a thousand life certificates to Indians and people of Indian origin. Earlier on 2-3 November, attempts were also made to disrupt the work of the consulate in Vancouver and Surrey.'

 

Indian-origin Canadian MP Chandra Arya shared the video of the incident.

This attack shows how deep and shameless Khalistani violent extremism has become in Canada. I am beginning to think that there is truth in it that apart from the political system of Canada, Khalistanis have also effectively infiltrated our law enforcement agencies.'

 

Canada's Sikh community also condemned the attack on Hindus.

 

The Sikh community has also condemned the attack by Khalistanis on Hindus in Canada. The Ontario Sikh and Gurdwara Council has issued a statement saying that 'The incident that happened outside the temple is sad. We are dedicated to the well-being of people of all religions and communities in Canada and want an environment in which everyone feels safe and can follow their faith without any fear. The investigating agencies should investigate this matter with utmost seriousness because there is no place for violence in our society. We also hope that the leaders of the communities come together and create an atmosphere of unity and kindness.'
