UP: Jama Masjid or Neelkanth Mahadev Temple in Badaun... Both sides face to face, made claims; this is why the issue got heated.

The matter has heated up after the statement of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) national president Asaduddin Owaisi in the Jama Masjid-Neelkanth Mahadev temple case in Badaun. People are giving their reactions on social media.

 

Both sides have their claims regarding the mosque and the temple. Who is right, and who is wrong, the court will decide on the basis of evidence and proof. On August 8, 2022, Vishwa Hindu Parishad provincial president Mukesh Patel filed a suit in the court, saying that where the city's Jama Masjid is located, there used to be a temple of Neelkanth Mahadev in the past.

 

After this, the hearing in this case started in the court. When the hearing started, the side was put forward by the government. The Archaeological Department called it a national heritage. Also said that the government has land up to 200 meters from the national heritage.

 

After this, the debate is being done by the Waqf Board and Intezamia Committee. The next hearing on this is to be held on December 3. Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi also heated the issue by tweeting on Saturday.

 

People reacted to this in their style. Some are calling it Jama Masjid and some are calling it a temple. At the same time, after the Sambhal incident, police officers have become alert. In such a situation, they have also deployed police around the disputed site.

 

Complete evidence of temple: Patel

 

State President of Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha, Mukesh Patel said that he has full evidence that there was a temple of Neelkanth Mahadev here in the past. There are idols here even today, old pillars, and tunnels below. Earlier there used to be a pond nearby.

 

He said that there was a temple here during the time of Qutubuddin Aibak. Then it was demolished and a mosque was built. There is evidence of this in the gazette from 1875 to 1978. He said that the debate is going on from the Intezamia Committee. After its completion, the advocate will present his side on his behalf.

 

Mosque for 850 years: Siddiqui

Advocate Asrar Ahmed Siddiqui, who is fighting the case of Jama Masjid, said that this is an 850-year-old Jama Masjid. There was never a temple here. Hindu Mahasabha has no right to present a claim for the temple. According to their claim, the temple does not exist. There can be no claim on behalf of something that does not exist. There is a debate going on in the court on rejecting the claim. He said that even if the old records are checked, Jama Masjid is still recorded here in the government records.

 

Communal tension being spread in the country in the name of the survey: Shahabuddin

On Sunday, regarding the Jama Masjid of Badaun, the President of All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that our country with Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb has been jinxed by people with communal thinking. Communal tension is being spread throughout the whole country in the name of the survey. The Prime Minister should take responsibility to stop this.

 

Maulana said that the emperor of Hindustan Shamsuddin Altamash built this mosque in 1223 AD. It is known as Shamsi Jama Masjid. Emperor Shamsuddin was a strong propagator of Sufi ideology. When he came to Badaun, there was no mosque there. That is why he built this mosque. There is a mention of the mosque in the year 1856 during British rule. Badaun is a very historical city anyway.
