
Amid the two-week-long military conflict between Israel and Iran, India has launched Operation Sindhu for the safe return of its citizens. Under this operation, a special plane carrying 285 Indian citizens reached Delhi from Mashhad city of Iran at 11:30 pm on Sunday. The happiness of Indians was visible after their safe return from crisis-hit Iran. Their faces lit up after meeting their loved ones at the airport. A total of 1,713 Indian citizens have been brought back to India from Iran so far under Operation Sindhu.
Minister of State Pabitra Margherita said that a special evacuation plane carrying 285 Indian citizens from Iran has reached New Delhi. The plane mainly carried Indian citizens from 10 states - Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra among others. He said that the total number of Indian citizens evacuated from Iran has now increased to 1713. We have scheduled 2-3 more flights from Iran for the next 2 days. He said that we are in constant touch with all the Indian citizens living in Iran and Israel.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in a post on X that India is constantly trying to bring back its people under Operation Sindhu. He said that a special plane carrying 285 Indians reached New Delhi from Mashhad city of Iran at 11:30 pm on June 22. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Pabitra Margherita welcomed the Indian citizens at the airport. He said that till now a total of 1,713 Indians have been brought back from Iran.
Return to the country was possible due to the Government of India: Jafri
Syed Shahzad Ali Jafri, who returned to India from Iran, thanked the Government of India. He said that I am from Mumbai and have been working in Iran for the last three years.
