Mumbai, Jan 1 (IANS) State-owned Canara Bank Thursday said it has appointed its executive director V.S. Krishnakumar as the interim managing director and CEO for three months in accordance with the central government directives.
"The central government has entrusted the additional charge of the managing director and CEO of the bank to V.S. Krishnakumar, executive director, for a period of three months from the date of assumption of charge or till the date of appointment of regular MD and CEO or until further orders, vide the order dated Dec 31, 2014," company secretary B. Nagesh Babu told National Stock Exchange here.
Krishnakumar, who has B.Sc. and L.L.B degrees, began his career with Allahabad Bank in 1981 and rose to become its general manager. During his career, he has handled portfolios in credit, inspection, vigilance and human resource management.
