A round of accusations has begun between the Center and the Maharashtra government over the Corona vaccine. Responding to Maharashtra's charge of under-supply of the vaccine, the Center has accused the state government of wasting vaccines. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said, 'Maharashtra has 23 lakh doses, which means it has a stock of vaccine for 5 days. Every state has its stock for 3 to 4 days. It is the responsibility of the state government to supply individual districts. But the Maharashtra government wasted 5 lakh doses instead.
Earlier, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope accused the central government of under-supplying the vaccine. He said that more supplies are being provided by the Center to states like Gujarat, UP, and Madhya Pradesh, while there are fewer cases. Not only this, he said that the government should focus on its states rather than other countries. Tope had said, 'We need at least 40 lakh doses every week. Instead of supplying vaccines to other countries, the government should give them to the states. We are getting help from the central government, but not as much as we need. '
The Congress, which is in the coalition government of Maharashtra, has also targeted the government. Congress state president Nana Patole said, 'Today our country is giving free vaccine to Pakistan too. But they are doing politics about Maharashtra. BJP's Center and state leaders are targeting Maharashtra. They will have to bear the consequences. Earlier on Thursday, vaccination was stopped in Satara, Sangli, Panvel. Apart from this, the Maharashtra government says that there is only one day's stock left in Buldhana. The state government says that 109 vaccine centers have also been closed in Pune.
Dr. Harsh Vardhan said allegations like lack of vaccine are nonsense
Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan had also reacted sharply to the Maharashtra Government's allegations. He had said that it is nonsense to say that the vaccine was reduced by Maharashtra. They said that the corona vaccine is being supplied through the scientific method and vaccines are being given to all states on a priority basis.
