Ranchi, March 23 (IANS) The two ruling alliance partners in Jharkhand -- the JMM and the Congress -- fighting the Lok Sabha polls following a tie-up in the state may go for a friendly fight in the Giridih constituency.
During the seat sharing between the two parties, Giridih was given to the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The JMM has fielded its legislator Jagannath Mahto whose name allegedly figured in the killing of a boy, media reports said.
Youth Congress president Anup Singh and son of Jharkhand Finance Minister Rajendra Singh has secured nomination from Giridih.
"Since the JMM candidate is facing the ire of the people, we request the party to allow Congress to fight from Giridih so that it goes to the UPA," Anup Singh told reporters. JMM has not reacted.
Of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state, ruling alliance partners JMM, Congress and RJD are fighting on four, nine and one seat, respectively.
