Electric vehicles will account for 30 percent of the vehicles sold in the country by 2030. By 2050, this share will increase to 75 percent. The Council on Energy, Environment, and Water (CEEW) report states that e-two-wheelers will account for 50 percent of new two-wheelers sold by 2030.

More than a quarter of the new three-wheelers and four-wheelers could be e-electric. According to the report, four-wheeler ownership is likely to increase nine-fold in the next three decades. However, two-wheeler ownership will stabilize as earnings rise. The huge boom in four-wheelers will impact the energy demand and emissions for the transport sector.
