COVID Vaccine Until 15 August!

Amid increasing infection of Covid-19, India can present the vaccine on this August 15. The government body Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) is preparing it. But experts are shouting how the Bharat Biotech vaccine can be prepared so fast. Clinical trial institutions are also unlikely to receive the vaccine by August 15.

Earlier on Thursday, Dr. Balaram Bhargava, Director General of ICMR, wrote a letter to the research groups, "After conducting all clinical trials, the idea of taking the vaccine for public use by August 15, 2020, has been considered."

Bhargava described it as the first vaccine to be developed in the country and claimed that it was one of the government's highest priority projects. He also wrote that it is being monitored at the highest level in the government. Bhargava said, 'This vaccine has been prepared from the strain of SARS-Cove-2 separated by ICMR-National Institute of Virology, Pune.'

A senior researcher and physician working in one of the public institutes selected for clinical trials in the country also expressed surprise. He said, 'If they talk of bringing the vaccine by 15 August 2021, it would not be surprising. Recruitment of patients for testing has not begun. We will work in a way and see what happens. We are talking about human trials, which is a serious thing. He also expressed surprise that a person with a great understanding of science has written this picture.

People in the health sector and other companies that develop vaccines feel that the picture is written under 'government pressure'. Vaccine preparation companies are concerned that they should not be asked to prepare the vaccine in such a short time. One company said, 'Good luck to this project. Let us see what happens. If the vaccine is made so soon, then other vaccine projects may not be needed.

A doctor from another clinical testing institute said that the company is in constant contact with them and vaccines have been tested on large animals. He said, "The results of testing on animals have been positive, that's why human testing is being done so soon."

Bharat Biotech issued a statement in the late evening saying that it has not released the pictures and messages coming in this case. But it is working for a safe and effective solution of Covid-19 and public health and will continue to follow all standards of quality and safety guidelines in vaccine development.

ICMR could not be contacted about this. But in yesterday's letter of Bhargava, it is written that ICMR and Bharat Biotech are working together on this vaccine. He wrote, 'Bharat Biotech is working fast to complete the work in due time. But the result will depend on the cooperation of all the clinical centers involved in the project.
