During the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), India and Pakistan once again had a dispute on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and terrorism. Imran Khan addressed the meeting on Friday after which India's representative at the United Nations responded. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi will address the General Assembly on Saturday.
On Friday, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his pre-recorded speech, targeted India over the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, dealing with minorities and the RSA's Hindutva agenda.
He accused India of human rights abuses and military use in Kashmir.
After this, India responded to Pakistan using its right to reply.
India accused Pakistan of promoting terrorism and persecution of Muslims including minorities in its own country.
The solution of Jammu and Kashmir is necessary for peace
Raising the issue of Kashmir, Imran Khan said, "Until Jammu and Kashmir dispute is resolved based on international legitimacy, there will be peace and stability in South Asia. The Security Council should stop this dangerous dispute and implement its resolutions as was done in East Timor. ''
He said, "I want to make it clear that if the fascist, totalitarian, RSS-led government tries to show aggression against Pakistan, it will meet a nation that will fight till the end for its independence."
Imran Khan criticized the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, the Indian government is trying to change the demographics in the state so that the result of the referendum mentioned in the UN Security Council resolutions can be affected.
He spoke again on issues raised last year including illegal financial flows from developing countries, climate change, and increasing Islamophobia globally.
What did RSS say
Imran Khan said about the RSS that the founding members of the RSS are inspired by the Nazis and they believe in concepts like racial purity and domination. The Nazis hated the Jews and the RSS meant Muslims and to a lesser extent Christians. They believe that India is a country of Hindus only and the rest are not equal citizens. Gandhi and Nehru's secularism has replaced the dream of creating a Hindu nation. He also mentioned the 2002 riots in Gujarat.
Imran Khan said that Pakistan has shown maximum restraint despite India's action on the Line of Control and has always talked about a peaceful solution.
India responded
India expressed strong opposition to this statement of Imran Khan.
India's permanent representative at the UN TS Tirumurthy called Pakistan's statement a new diplomatic fall. At the same time, it was described as a lie, personal attack, provoking war, persecution of its minorities, and trying to hide cross-border terrorism.
During the speech of Imran Khan, the first secretary of the Indian Mission at the United Nations, Mizito Vinito left the United Nations General Assembly.
After this, India responded to Pakistan's statement using the Right to Reply.
On behalf of India, Mizito Vinito said, "Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral and inseparable part of India. The rules and laws brought in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are completely internal affairs of India. There is only one dispute in Kashmir that it is still under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. We demand that Pakistan leave all the illegal possession areas. ''
Minorities and Muslims attacked in Pakistan
Mizito Vinito said about Pakistan and Imran Khan, "This is the only country that provides funds to dangerous and enlisted terrorists." The leader whom we heard today is the same person who called Osama bin Laden a martyr in his Parliament.
He admitted to the US in 2019 that his country still has 30 to 40,000 terrorists who have been trained by Pakistan and who fight in Afghanistan and Jammu and Kashmir. This country is destroying its minorities, including Hindus, Christians, and Sikhs systematically, by blasphemy law and forced conversions. ''
Raising the issue of attack on Muslims in Pakistan itself, he said that someone who claims to be an advocate of Islam, this is a country where the killing of fellow Muslims is encouraged because they are from different sects.
Mizito Vinito said that this gathering listened to a person who had nothing to show for himself, who had no achievements to speak and no good suggestions to give to the world. Instead, we saw lies, misinformation, and malice.
He said, "The only way for Pakistan to become a normal country is to give up its moral, financial and material support for terrorism. Pay attention to the problems faced by your population, including your minorities, and do not use the United Nations platform to advance your false intentions.
Earlier, in the two countries, the issue of Jammu and Kashmir and terrorism was debated in the meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
