Because of this, India has resumed its fight against Covid. To save people from the devastation of Corona in the country, the authorities have made various preparations ranging from masks to booster doses.

Here are 10 key points on the Covid situation...

1) Mock drill is going to be held in hospitals and health institutions across the country today to check preparedness. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced these exercises only last week.

2) The Union Health Minister also held a meeting with the members of the Indian Medical Association. He asked people to be allowed to take the second booster dose. Let us inform you that a large number of people in the country have not yet got the booster dose.

3) The Union Minister also asked the experts and IMA representatives in the meeting to stop the infodemic. He also mentioned the misinformation spread on Corona.

4) States across the country are also taking various measures at their level. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia held a meeting with the directors and medical superintendents of all government hospitals on Monday. During this, he called for increasing the facilities.

5) Sisodia said that the global surge in Covid cases is a matter of concern for all. Hospitals need to be prepared in advance. All have been directed to share details of beds, ventilators, facilities in the ICU, number of doctors and nurses, oxygen plants, field staff, and permitted medicines with the health department by today evening.

6) In addition, teachers from Delhi government schools will be deployed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport from December 31 to January 15 to ensure that passengers follow COVID protocols. Concerns have been raised in recent times over the heavy rush at Delhi airport.

7) The Karnataka government also held a meeting on Monday regarding the preparations for the New Year's programs. It was ordered during the meeting that all the programs of the new year should also end by 1 am and wearing masks would be mandatory.

8) Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar said that masks have been made mandatory inside theatres, schools, and colleges. Masks will be mandatory to celebrate the New Year in pubs, restaurants, and bars. New Year's celebration should be over by 1 am. There is no need to panic, we just have to be careful. Earlier, he had said that 12 international passengers had tested positive for Covid at Bengaluru airport in December and their samples have been sent for testing.

9) Screening at airports has increased since last week. RT-PCR test has now been made mandatory for those coming from China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand. On Monday, officials said that seven foreign nationals from Myanmar and Thailand were found corona positive in Bihar's Gaya. Their samples have been sent for genome sequencing.
