Cyber Attack: Big cyber attack on PF website, personal information of 28 crore account holders reached the hacker

The account information of more than 28 crore account holders of Provident Fund (PF) has been leaked. According to the report, this hacking of the PF website happened earlier this month. Bob Diachenko, a cyber security researcher from Ukraine.

 

 

Bob has given information about this hacking through a LinkedIn post on August 1, 2022. This data leak includes UAN number, name, marital status, complete details of Aadhar card, gender, and complete details of a bank account. According to Diachenko, this data has been leaked from two different IP addresses. Both of these IPs were linked to Microsoft's Azure cloud.

 

 

There are reports of 280,472,941 data leaks from the first IP and 8,390,524 from the second IP. The hacker has not yet been identified, after which this data has reached. Apart from this, the DNS server information has not been found yet.

 

Till now the information has not been received about this, since when the data of 28 crore users is available online. Hackers can also use this data in the wrong way. Fake profiles of people can be created based on leaked information.

 

Bob Diachenko has also informed the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) about this data leak. After receiving the report, CERT-IN has given an update to the researcher through e-mail. CERT-IN has said that both the IP addresses have been blocked within 12 hours. No agency or hacker has taken responsibility for this hacking yet.
