The CAG report on the Mohalla clinics operated during the AAP government's tenure in the capital, Delhi, has revealed shocking facts. According to the report, South Delhi's medicine store is in the basement, which does not even have air conditioning and ventilation. Boxes of medicines were found kept on the ground, toilet premises, and stairs.
Between January 2022 and April 2023, 26 essential medicines were not available in the medicine store of North East district for one to 16 months. In this way, 10 to 37 percent of the drugs for dispensaries were not available in the stores of the districts. At the same time, between the years 2016 to 2020, out of about 17 lakh school students, only 2.81 lakh to 3.51 lakh students could get health checkups. There is a lack of space to keep medicines in the drug store centers of the districts.
Negligence in monitoring too
Negligence was also shown in monitoring the Mohalla clinics. Their inspection was negligible. Between March 2018 and March 2023, 11,191 inspections of 218 mohalla clinics should have been done, whereas only 175 inspections were done.
AYUSH dispensaries are also in bad shape
Due to a lack of doctors and basic facilities, AYUSH dispensaries are also in bad shape. 68 percent Ayurvedic, 72 percent Unani and 17 percent Homeopathy dispensaries are unable to run OPD six days a week. Due to this, the number of patients in these has decreased by 19 percent. In the year 2016-17, about 34.72 lakh patients got treatment in these dispensaries, which decreased to 28.13 lakh in the year 2022-23. 42 percent of Ayurvedic medicines and 56 percent of Unani medicines are not available in the dispensaries.
The government should put 13 other CAG reports on the table: Devendra Yadav.
Delhi Pradesh Congress President Devendra Yadav has demanded the BJP government to put all the CAG reports related to the tenure of the Aam Aadmi Party government on the table of the assembly.
One report of the excise scam was presented.
He said that the BJP had promised to present all the CAG reports in the first session of the assembly, but only one report of the excise scam has been presented. This report is also not being discussed properly. This shows that the BJP was involved in the corruption of the AAP government, so it wants to hide the truth. He said that the 13 other CAG reports should also be put on the table of the assembly as soon as possible.
