Grasp is applicable in Delhi-NCR from October 1
Grasp is in force in Delhi-NCR from October 1. Instructions have been given by the Central Air Quality Management Commission to implement GRAP in four phases. Due to increasing pollution, the fourth phase of restrictions has been implemented in the district, but despite the increasing level of pollution, no restrictions of any kind are visible in the district.
The departments which have been given the responsibility of reducing pollution are also not doing anything. There is dust and smoke on the road. Cleaning of roads is still being done manually. No campaign has been launched yet to take action against vehicles emitting smoke.
The residents of the city are having to suffer the consequences of this negligence of administrative officials. Construction work is going on in full swing in colonies and sectors in the city. No action is being taken by the authorities to stop them.
People started having trouble breathing
There was a blanket of smog in the morning. People started having trouble breathing. A foul smell started spreading in the air. Smog is causing eye irritation and respiratory problems in patients. The doctor has said that we have to be conscious about our health.
The chemicals found in the smoke irritate the eyes and skin and when inhaled into the respiratory tract, cause cough, shortness of breath, mucus, etc. Due to the smell of chemicals in the smoke, there is an unbearable foul smell.
It is not logical to take only anti-allergic and respiratory medicines for the problems caused by smog, rather we should use preventive measures.
