There was a traffic jam in Gurugram due to the closure of the entry of heavy vehicles in Delhi from 10 pm on Monday to 1.30 pm on Tuesday for the final rehearsal of the Republic Day celebrations.
Along with issuing the advisory, the Gurugram Police had also put up barricades to stop the vehicles going to the Delhi border from midnight on Monday. The jam can be relieved after heavy vehicles start entering the Delhi border after 1.30 pm on Wednesday.
Jam started happening on Monday night
Due to the closure of entry into the Delhi border, heavy vehicles, trucks, highways, dumpers, and trolleys were parked on the roadside on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Due to this, traffic jams started on Monday night itself. There was a heavy traffic jam on Tuesday morning.
Barricading was done at night
DCP Traffic Virendra Vij said that after the entry into the Delhi border was closed, heavy vehicles were stopped at the Gurugram border given security arrangements. For security reasons, barricading was done at night. The additional police force has been deployed on Gurugram border to deal with the jam.
