Big negligence has come to light in Baby Care New Born Hospital located in Vivek Vihar. There was not a single fire extinguisher in the hospital. This revelation has come from the internal report prepared by Shahdara District Police to send to top officials. Shahdara Police has not had DNA profiling done on the body of any dead newborn. The bodies of all have been handed over to their families without DNA testing. However, the police have taken DNA samples of everyone and kept them.
A senior police officer of Shahdara district said that according to the report prepared by the police after the initial investigation, after extinguishing the fire in Baby Care New Born Hospital located in Vivek Vihar, when the hospital was inspected, torn oxygen cylinders were found there. Apart from this, policemen, fire brigade staff, and the crime team conducted a thorough inspection of the hospital. After inspection, the nursing staff was also interrogated. After this, it was found that negligence was being done everywhere in the hospital. The investigation found that there was not a single fire extinguisher in the hospital. There was also no emergency exit. Apart from this, the BAMS doctor's duty was as a doctor.
This was gross negligence in the hospital
License to Baby Care New Born Hospital was issued by DGHS, Govt. The deadline for the NCT of Delhi had already expired on March 31, 2024.
Even as per the expired license (issued to the said hospital) only 5 beds were allowed, but at the time of the incident, 12 newborns were admitted to the hospital.
The duty doctor was not qualified/competent to treat the newborn baby, as he is only a BAMS degree holder.
There was no fire extinguisher installed in the said hospital for emergencies in case of fire.
Most importantly, there is no emergency exit in the hospital in case of any untoward incident.

Vivek Vihar police station has come to know that Baby Care New Born Hospital has 4 branches. Apart from Vivek Vihar, they are in Delhi's Punjabi Bagh, Faridabad, and Gurugram. The owner of the hospital, Dr. Naveen lives in Paschim Vihar. He is an MD in Pediatrics. His wife Dr. Jagriti is a dentist.
The relatives had identified the dead bodies
According to Shahdara district police officials, the family members had identified the bodies of their children. For this reason, DNA testing of the dead bodies has not been done. However, the police have kept the DNA samples of all the dead children. If any kind of dispute arises then DNA will be done.
32 cylinders of oxygen were kept
According to police officials, 32 cylinders of oxygen were kept in this five-bed hospital. After the fire, these cylinders started bursting. Due to this, the fire became huge.
BAMS doctor was hired for less money
During the initial investigation, the police found out that Dr. Akash is an Ayurvedic doctor. Found out that Dr. Akash was being kept on because he was being paid less.
