Trump on Pahalgam Attack: PM Modi and the US President spoke on the phone, and promised support in the fight against terrorism.

US President Donald Trump has spoken to Prime Minister Modi over the phone. He expressed deep condolences on the death of innocent people killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister Modi thanked President Trump for America's support in the fight against terrorism. Government sources said that while thanking America for its support, PM Modi said that India is determined to punish the perpetrators of this cowardly and heinous terrorist attack and the supporters of terror.

 

America is with India in the fight against terrorism.

 

President Trump also condemned the terrorist attack in Baisaran, Pahalgam. The US President has assured India of full support in the action to punish the culprits of this heinous act. Trump stressed that America stands with India in this difficult time and is also ready to provide all possible assistance.

 

Global leaders condemned the attack.

 

Even before President Trump, many global leaders also strongly condemned this terrorist incident. Russian President Trump, Italian Prime Minister Meloni, and Saudi Arabia have also condemned the terrorist incident and expressed support to India. Germany, Sri Lanka, and Israel have also condemned the terrorist attack and expressed support to India.

 

Trump said - Disturbing news came from Kashmir.

 

Even before talking to PM Modi on the phone, Trump had posted on his official social media handle strongly condemning the Pahalgam terrorist attack. He wrote, that very disturbing news has come from Kashmir. America stands firmly with India against terrorism. Prime Minister Modi and the people of India have our full support and deep sympathy. Our condolences are with all of you. The US State Department issued a statement condemning the attack.

26 people, mostly tourists, were killed in a terrorist attack on Tuesday afternoon at a tourist spot known as 'Mini Switzerland' near Pahalgam city of Jammu and Kashmir. This is the deadliest attack in the valley after the Pulwama attack in 2019. A high-ranking official said that among the 26 dead, two were foreigners and two were residents. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah described this terrorist attack as 'much bigger than any attack on civilians in recent years'. Officials said that this attack happened at a time when US Vice President JD Vance was on a visit to India. At the same time, the tourism and trekking season is gaining momentum in Jammu and Kashmir.
