Delhi Pollution: Delhi is inhaling poisonous air with every breath, people are smoking 40 to 50 cigarettes daily even without drinking them.

Due to Delhi turning into a gas chamber, the air here has become dangerous for health. Due to this, everyone has started feeling a burning sensation in the eyes, headache, and sore throat.

 

Respiratory patients in emergency hospitals have increased by 30 percent. The number of patients may increase further in the next few days. Dr. Arvind Kumar, founder of the Lung Care Foundation, said that if the air quality index reaches more than 400, then such air becomes unbreathable.

 

Smoke equivalent to 40-50 cigarettes reaching the lungs

At some places in Delhi, the level of PM 10 in the atmosphere has reached more than 800 micrograms per cubic meter. In such a situation, even a non-smoker is inhaling smoke equivalent to smoking 40 to 50 cigarettes.

 

Dr. Rajesh Chawla, the respiratory disease specialist at Apollo Hospital, said that the disease of chronic respiratory patients has increased. Many patients are reaching the hospital with asthma attacks.

 

The number of patients in the hospital has increased by about 30 percent. The dosage of medicines of the patients has to be increased. Dr. Vikas Maurya, a specialist in pulmonary medicine at Fortis Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, said that patients are reaching the hospital with cough and phlegm.
