Vice President Election 2025: 'Unanimously...', PM Modi's appeal to all parties including the opposition regarding CP Radhakrishnan

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Vice Presidential candidate CP Radhakrishnan was felicitated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his top leaders, including several BJP allies, at a meeting of MPs of the ruling alliance on Tuesday. Radhakrishnan may file his nomination on Wednesday.

 

The BJP-led NDA has a clear majority in the electoral college comprising Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs. In such a situation, Radhakrishnan's victory is certain. On the other hand, the opposition group INDIA Block has also indicated that it will field its own candidate and contest.

PM Modi made this appeal to all parties

 

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to the opposition as well as all parties to unanimously elect CP Radhakrishnan for the post of Vice President. 67-year-old Radhakrishnan is an experienced BJP leader and is currently the Governor of Maharashtra.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had met CP Radhakrishnan yesterday. In a post on X, PM Modi said, "Met Thiru CP Radhakrishnan Ji. Conveyed my best wishes to him on being elected as the NDA's Vice Presidential candidate. His long public service and experience in various fields will enrich our nation. May he continue to serve the nation with the same dedication and determination that he has always shown."
