IPL 2024: 'Rohit will leave MI', Wasim Akram made a big prediction, told for which team the hitman will open

Meanwhile, former Pakistan bowler Wasim Akram has made a big prediction about Rohit Sharma. He said that Hitman will leave MI in the next season. Just before this season, the team management had removed the veteran player from the captaincy and handed over the responsibility of leading the team to Hardik Pandya. Mumbai's performance this season has not been anything special. Out of 12, the team has faced defeat in eight matches.

 

Mumbai is out of the playoff race

In the points table, Mumbai Indians are in ninth position with eight points. On Wednesday, Hyderabad strengthened its position in the playoff race by defeating Lucknow and eliminating Mumbai. Wasim Akram made a big prediction

Veteran bowler Wasim Akram has expressed concern over the reshuffle in the captaincy of Mumbai Indians. He has claimed that Rohit will not be a part of MI in the next season. Akram has expressed his wish that Rohit should be a part of Kolkata Knight Riders.

 

Akram said, "I think he will not be in Mumbai Indians next season. I would love to see him in Kolkata Knight Riders. Imagine Gautam Gambhir will be the mentor, and Shreyas Iyer will be the captain. Rohit Sharma will open there. They have a very strong Will bat. He bats very well at Eden Gardens, his home ground. He is a very good player, but it will be good to see him in Kolkata."

 

Rohit's performance

If we look at Rohit's performance this season, he has scored 330 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 152.77. In the current season, he has also scored a century with his bat. However, in the last few matches, he has been seen struggling to stay on the wicket.
