The Awadh crossing connecting the expressway and the highway in the capital of Uttar Pradesh can now prove to be important for the 'bullet train' as well. The government plans to build a high-speed rail corridor between Delhi and Varanasi by 2029. On February 11, in the Rajya Sabha, the Railway Minister had announced that a survey would be conducted soon and a roadmap for 6 other corridors including the Delhi-Varanasi High-Speed Rail Corridor would be prepared.
According to government officials, the distance between Delhi and Varanasi can be covered in just four hours by the High-Speed Rail Corridor. In this corridor, the bullet train will be able to run at a speed of 330 km per hour.
A senior official said that there will be a total of 13 stations in this corridor, out of which 12 will be in Uttar Pradesh and one will be built in Delhi. Delhi's station will be underground. The train will take just 3 hours and 33 minutes to reach Varanasi from Delhi. Apart from this, it will stop for a few minutes at some stations. A 15-kilometer long tunnel will be built for the underground station.
According to officials, this corridor will be built along Yamuna and Agra-Lucknow Expressway. This will not cause much harm to forests and animals. About 43 trains will reach Avadh Crossing Railway Station every day. That is, there will be a high-speed train from Delhi to Varanasi every 22 minutes.
The train will leave for Varanasi from Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi. After this, it will have stops at Noida 146 Metro Station, Jewar Airport, Mathura, Agra, Etawah, Kannauj, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Bhadohi. Manduadiev, Varanasi will be the last station of this corridor. A foot over the bridge will be provided for Singarnagar metro station at Avadh crossing in Lucknow. Similarly, a foot-over bridge will be built at Phaphamau railway station in Prayagraj.
As per the current plan, 18 trains will run from Varanasi every 47 minutes. Let us inform you that at present the National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited is working for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad corridor.
